Congratulations Anna and Phil

Congratulations Anna and Phil

On Saturday the 24th of May, Anna and Phil got married and had a beautiful reception in North Stoke in a lovely garden by the river.

Squirrel
The setting was stunning; the backdrop for the marquee was a tranquil river full of swans and their cute little cygnets. The marquee itself was situated in a friend’s woodland, inhabited by inquisitive little squirrels, with a view across the river as the guests enjoyed the wedding breakfast. We love catering for home weddings as they are all so different, it allows the bride and groom to be completely unique with their event.
The event started with a drinks reception of champagne and soft drinks, where our waiters and waitresses circulated our delicious canapés whilst topping up glasses with bubbly. The canapé menu was as follows;

Baby Yorkshire Puddings with Rare Roast Beef and Horseradish

Goats Cheese and Spinach Flat Bread

Crisp Whitebait with Tartar Sauce

Smoked Haddock Hash Browns with a Herb Créme Fraîche

Spicy Thai Chicken Bites with Chilli Jam

&

Smoked Venison, Green Beans and Horseradish

Main room
After the drinks reception, the guests went through into the section of the marquee for the wedding breakfast. The chosen decoration was minimal, but very effective. Paper lanterns have been very popular in the wedding world this year, and Anna and Phil used the trend to decorate their marquee perfectly. At varied heights, the lanterns looked great in the canopy, especially at night. Their colour scheme was beautifully understated with just two main colours, cobalt blue and dusky pink. The baby’s breath in the bouquet broke up the blocks of colour, making it appear more delicate and soft. The colour scheme was continued into the wedding favours; each guest was given a stick of rock which had ‘Phil and Anna’ printed throughout the whole rock with a cute little heart. The packaging featured an old picture of the couple too, the whole idea was lovely.

Table

Table names
On each of the place settings were little cards which blew us away as such a fantastic idea; the guests were issued a username and a password for an online photo album for Anna and Phil’s wedding. This meant that they could all upload all of their photos to the album so that they were all in one place, and Anna and Phil could have access to all of them. It’s always nice to have photos additional to the professional ones, as they are often less staged and more comfortable, showing everyone’s true colours (especially on the dance floor after the bar has opened!)

The table names were pubs and restaurants which the couples had visited together during their dating years which was a lovely idea. They were featured in an italic, fancy font in french chic style picture frames.

For the wedding breakfast, Anna and Phil’s chosen menu was;

Starter

Marinated Artichokes

Feta Filled Baby Peppers

A Selection of Salamis and Parma Ham

Flat Breads

Hummus

Tabbouleh

Meat Balls in a Rich Tomato Sauce

Grilled Asparagus

Crispy Chorizo

&

Ham and Cheese Croquets

Main

Braised Lamb Neck Fillet with Basil Crushed Potatoes, Green Beans and Jus Provençal

Red Pepper and Filo Tart with Basil Crushed Potatoes, Green Beans and Salsa Verde

Dessert

Trio: Chocolate Pot, Berry Sorbet and Créme Brûlée

The starter was served on sharing platters, which the guests enjoyed. It always brings the table together, which is great for guests which don’t know each other very well to connect and converse. The food went down a treat and there were plenty of compliments circulating about how delicious and unique the sorbet was. Tea and coffee was then served to each table, followed by the bar being opened and the band beginning their evening of entertainment.
