On Saturday we had the pleasure of spending the day at Ufton Court for Anna and Mark’s Wedding Day.
The barn was full of seasonal delights; tea lights with fir and pine cones and winter spiced potpourri. There was a lovely atmosphere in the barn when we arrived, with all of the family chipping in and helping decorate.
The tables looked great with varied jars and candles, autumnal coloured flowers and our ivory table linen and luxury tableware.
Anna and Mark chose to have their ceremony in the barn before making their way to the Archer’s Hall for the reception. Guests enjoyed some of our delicious canapés; Baby Yorkshire Puddings with Rare Roast Beef and Horseradish, Smoked Haddock Hash Browns with Herb Creme Fraiche, Truffled Potato Croquettes, Potted Venison and Melba Toast and Courgette, Feta and Basil Beignets, whilst being offered bubbles and soft drinks by our waiting staff.
Their winter theme continued into their Wedding Breakfast for which they shared hearty Beef Stews with bowls of Purple Sprouting Broccoli, Plain and Mustard Mashed Potato. For their dessert Anna and Mark chose Treacle Sponge with Creme Anglais, which went down a treat. With long, rectangular tables and no seating plan, the barn had a family banqueting feel which was enhanced by the hearty dishes of stew and vegetables. Long banqueting tables make the wedding guests feel more of a whole, rather than being separated onto different tables. It really brings the group together.
Later on in the evening we served the wedding cake along with a rustic cheese board full of a selection of cheeses, cold meats and chutneys. Guests needed refuelling whilst dancing the night away, and this really did the trick. It was another lovely day at Ufton Court, full of beautiful DIY touches and family dining and we wish Anna and Mark all the best for the future.
