Ufton Fayre

Ufton Fayre

This was a wedding fayre like no other. Instead of suppliers having their individual stands to man, with white table cloths and simple signs, Ufton Court had a vision. The whole venue would be dressed as a real wedding, with suppliers showcasing how their skills could be utilised at a wedding at Ufton Court. This really allowed future brides and grooms to see how their day would play out if they chose Ufton Court and their top notch team of suppliers.

From entering the barn we noticed such a lovely vibe and were greeted with plentiful smiles. The barn was buzzing with busy showcasers prettying up their tables for the arrival of the guests. We were lucky enough to get the top table to dress, and boy did we go to town on our theme! We teamed up with the delightful event dresser Pretty Pieces Perfect Days and florist Green Parlour and got our heads together to come up with a theme that could really showcase all of our skills and get guests excited for planning their events. That was when we came up with a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party. With PPPD’s ornate vintage crockery, Green Parlour’s wild blooms and our wickedly bright treats, we knew we could conjure up something magical for Ufton Fayre.

Wild Fork Green Parlour PPPD Table

Green Parlour set off with all sorts of bits and pieces as we stood in awe of their speedy ability to put up what ended up being a work of art for us to lay up our table around. The table was lined with a moss runner, immediately releasing a mysterious woodland feel. We then decorated this with PPPD’s Alice in Wonderland-perfect crockery, filled with more blooms spilling from everywhere we could fit some oasis! We dotted this with antique fairytale books and tea pots, finished off by Green Parlour with some jaw-droppingly impressive trees full of wild greenery. It really did have the wow factor, showing the lovely couples that with a team of amazing suppliers, you can create something truly amazing for their wedding day.

Teapot

Our table was cleverly linked with Pretty Pieces Perfect Days’ stand by the entrance, which featured a matching table plan. This really allowed guests to see how their whole wedding could look at the Ufton Court Tithe Barn.

Pretty Pieces Table Plan

With our table inside ready and raring to be shown off, we then set up another table in the glorious grounds of Ufton Court, overlooking the sunken garden. We were using this area to show off ideas for a drinks reception, and how we could incorporate a wonderful theme like The Mad Hatter’s Tea Party into every part of the day. We served a refreshing ‘G & Tea’ from rustic kilner jars into the tea cups, with mouthwatering grapefruit and mint. These were ‘the talk of the town’ with various guests gossiping that they must get the recipe. We paired this unusual tea-cup cocktail with some vibrant macarons filled with chocolate ganache and delightfully bright meringues. Our table had vintage cookie jars filled with every flavoured biscuit you can imagine, and some old fashioned toffee popcorn to please the children. One little customer was so pleased with our dark chocolate cookies that he decided to wear it all over himself for the rest of the day, with chocolate smeared from head to toe, sorry mum and dad!

R Whites Box

We were lucky enough to have The Snow Machine Company next to us by the sunken garden, providing the perfect bizarre back drop for our Mad Hatter’s Tea Party; snow, in June.

Marianne

Marianne looked truly stunning, giving brides to be a taste of what their Ufton Court winter wedding could look like, especially with the amazing Wayne Kahn as their photographer.

Mabel and Me

There were some really original, exciting suppliers dotted around the grounds of Ufton, including Mabel and Me, the adorable vintage caravan, selling some delicious refreshments in the form of Jude’s Icecream (of course sampled by the team here at The Wild Fork…)

Harrison and Green's Displauy

Harrison and Green also had a beautiful display and decorated the reception table with a lovely floral wreath.

It was a huge success for everyone involved; guests and suppliers alike strode around the grounds with beaming smiles, with a gentle murmur of exciting wedding gossip filling the air. Allowing guests to envisage their wedding day in such a way had an extremely positive effect on the whole wedding fayre, and we cannot wait until the next one!
